Parking at French Creek

Visitor Parking
Pay parking for the Lasqueti Island Ferry is available at French Creek Harbour, and can be purchased through a parking pass dispenser (accepts coins, or bills up to $20, or credit cards), or from the Harbour Master's Office.
French Creek Harbour
French Creek is located between Parksville and Qualicum Beach on Highway 19A. A large fishing fleet operates at the French Creek Marina. There is a restaurant and a pub.
Most critically, it is where the Lasqueti Passenger Ferry docks and picks up passengers from Vancouver Island.
Islands Trust
The Islands Trust is a federation of independent local governments, which plans land use and regulates development in the trust area. The Lasqueti Local Trust Committee is responsible for Lasqueti and the surrounding small islands.

Regional District
Lasqueti Island is part of the qathet Regional District. A regional district is set up to provide different services in different areas according to the needs and desires of each area’s residents and property owners. Only those who receive the service pay for it.
Lasqueti Volunteer Fire Department
The Lasqueti Volunteer Fire Department (LVFD) is staffed by a dedicated crew of volunteers, including:
- First Responders
- Fire Fighters
- Emergency Response Coordinators
- Coordinators and administrative assistants
Our Fire Chief, Richard C., capably oversees the whole operation for the qRD.
The community is so grateful to these dedicated volunteers who take annual training courses and are on-call 24/7 during their shifts. You are an amazing group of people!

This means that the high risk activities ban is lifted. but we will still be using the early shift restrictions.
High risk activities must stop by 1300 each day and a 2 hour fire watch must be posted after work stops.

Community Arts Council
The Lasqueti Island Community Arts Council exists to support and nurture creativity on the island through sponsorships and community events. It maintains the Arts Centre: a small gallery used for exhibitions, life drawing groups, creative projects, poetry classes, and film screenings.
The Arts Council sponsors art-related events, one of which is its annual Arts Fest fundraiser. The first Saturday of July, musicians, artists, and poets gather to show their talents.
